Origin Story

The name Boricua Legacy is our tribute to the enduring spirit of the Puerto Rican people. "Boricua" derives from Borikén, the original Taíno name for the island, reflecting the deep Indigenous roots of our culture. The "Legacy" acknowledges the rich, resilient heritage forged over centuries—a vibrant tapestry woven from Taíno, Spanish, and African influences. We chose this name because we believe the stories we publish carry forward this powerful, multi-layered identity, ensuring the collective history and dynamic future of the Puerto Rican people are preserved and shared globally.
